Abstract
Standard & Poor's Rating Services assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating to Mesa County School District No. 50 (Plateau Valley), Colo.'s series 2012 general obligation (GO) refunding bonds. At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its 'AA-' long-term and underlying rating (SPUR) on the district's existing GO debt. The outlook on all bonds is stable. The ratings reflect our view of the school district's eligibility for and participation in the Colorado State Aid Intercept Program. The credit characteristics of the program are supported by the strength and availability of state aid to the intercept program participants.
