European CMBS Monthly Bulletin (October 2011): Two-Thirds Of Maturing Loans Could Fail To Repay By End 2012 Oct 11

Abstract
In a special report this month, Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has examined its data on the 187 loans in European commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS) that were scheduled to mature between January 2010 and September 2011, to see what reported loan-to-value (LTV) ratios could herald for maturity performance of loans whose maturities lie ahead. Our analysis concludes that?based on reported LTV ratios alone?nearly two-thirds of the loans scheduled to mature between October 2011 and the end of 2012 could fail to repay.
