Abstract
The ratings on Natexis Banques Populaires (NBP) reflect the creditworthiness of the Banques Populaires (BP) group, of which NBP is a core member. The BP group, the seventh-largest banking group by total assets in France, benefits from a healthy market franchise, diversified business profile, sound profitability, and satisfactory capitalization. NBP accounts for about 34% of the total loans of the BP group and 30% of group revenues. NBP is responsible for the corporate-finance, investment-banking, and financial-services activities of the BP group.
