Abstract
LONDON -- Standard & Poor's CreditWire 10/10/95 -- Standard & Poor's, in conjunction with its French affiliate S&P-ADEF, places the long-term and short-term ratings of Banque Francaise du Commerce Exterieur (BFCE) and the short-term rating of Credit National (CN) and related entities (see list) on CreditWatch with negative implications, due to the likely privatization of BFCE and subsequent purchase by CN of the majority of BFCE's shares. The ratings on BFCE's and CN's long- and short-term debt guaranteed by the Republic of France are not placed on CreditWatch.
