Abstract
OVERVIEW Standard & Poor's affirmed the unsolicited long-term sovereign credit rating on the Federal Republic of Germany at 'AAA' on Jan. 13, 2012, and removed the rating from CreditWatch with negative implications. We are maintaining our Banking Industry Country Risk Assessment (BICRA) for Germany at group '2'. We are therefore affirming the ratings on various Germany-based banks and their core subsidiaries and removing them from CreditWatch, where they were placed with negative implications on Dec. 7 and 8, 2011.
