Banking Industry Country Risk Assessment Update: January 2012 Jan 12

Abstract This article presents updates to Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' BICRA scores for the 87 banking systems that we currently review under our Banking Industry Country Risk Assessment methodology, which we revised and published on Nov. 9, 2011 (see chart 1 and the tables in the appendix). On that date, as a result of the changes to our BICRA methodology, we revised many BICRA groups and published economic risk and industry risk scores (see 'S&P's BICRAs Measure Banking Risks For 86 Countries'). We also commented on those changes in the article, 'Standard & Poor's BICRAs Highlight The Shifting Balance In Global Banking.'
