Abstract The ratings on French Caisse Centrale du Cr-dit Mutuel and related entities are based on a consolidated analysis of the Cr-dit Mutuel group, including Cr-dit Industriel et Commercial (CIC), acquired in 1998. They reflect Cr-dit Mutuel's solid market share in domestic retail banking, adequate profitability, and satisfactory capital ratios. They also reflect the reliability of the system of solidarity that exists between the cooperative banks that are members of the Cr-dit Mutuel group. Cr-dit Mutuel focuses primarily on retail banking.
