PARIS (Standard & Poor's CreditWire) Jan. 4, 2000--Standard & Poor's today affirmed its single-'A' long-term and 'A-1' short-term ratings on Crédit Industriel et Commercial, formerly Compagnie Financière de CIC et de l'Union Européene. The outlook is stable. (See list below for all ratings affected.) This rating action follows Compagnie Financière de CIC et de l'Union Européenne's absorption on Dec. 31, 1999, of its fully owned subsidiary CIC Paris (not rated), and the former's change of name to Crédit Industriel et Commercial. The ratings on Crédit Industriel et Commercial are based on a consolidated analysis of the CIC group.
