Abstract The ratings on French Caisse Centrale du Cr-dit Mutuel and related entities are based on a consolidated analysis of the Cr-dit Mutuel group (Cr-dit Mutuel-CIC), which includes the Cr-dit Mutuel cooperative banks (Cr-dit Mutuel) and Cr-dit Industriel et Commercial (CIC), acquired in 1998. The ratings also reflect Cr-dit Mutuel's solid market share in domestic retail banking, sound risk profile, sound profitability, and very satisfactory capital ratios. Also factored into the ratings is the reliability of the system of solidarity that exists between the cooperative banks that are members of the Cr-dit Mutuel group.
