ISDA, the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, is currently revising the two CDS of ABS documentation templates originally released in June 2005. These revisions should further improve the efficiency of the nascent market for this new breed of CDSs, providing a several billion dollar fillip according to some estimates. The updated templates could be released as early as February 2006. A new addition to the first template is under development, which will permit an alternative total return swap valuation approach. The second template is undergoing revisions to accommodate changes in the market since the templates were originally released.
