The residential mortgage-backed securitisation (RMBS) market has revolutionised and continues to influence the home loan market in Australia, and to a lesser extent, New Zealand. Securitisation has allowed many new lenders into the market by providing a source of funding previously unavailable to them. These new lenders have increased competition, promoting an environment of product development and innovation.
