California's Veterans Affairs Bonds Rated 'AA-' Jun 01

Abstract SAN FRANCISCO (Standard & Poor's CreditWire) June 4, 2001--Standard & Poor's has assigned its double-'A'-minus rating to California's $42.00 million veterans GO bonds series BX-1, issued for the California Department of Veterans Affairs. The bonds are scheduled to sell on June 7, 2001. In addition, Standard & Poor's affirmed its double-'A'-minus rating on California's outstanding veterans GO bonds and its double-'A'-minus rating on the California Department of Veterans Affairs' outstanding home purchase revenue bonds. The outlooksare stable. The double-'A'-minus ratings reflect the credit strength of the Veterans Farm and Home Building Fund of 1943 (1943 Fund).
