Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AA' long-term rating and a stable outlook to the town of Dartmouth, Mass.' series 2010 general obligation (GO) municipal purpose bonds. In addition, Standard & Poor's assigned an 'SP-1+ 'short-term rating to the town's GO bond anticipation notes (BANs), which the town is issuing concurrently. The short-term rating is based on the city's underlying credit quality and demonstrated access to credit markets as evidenced by previous note borrowings. The bond authorization authorizes the note issuance and the issuance of the long-term bonds necessary to take them out, likely when the notes come due on Aug. 26, 2010.
