Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services assigned its 'AAA' rating and stable outlook to Arlington County, Va.'s series 2012 general obligation (GO) refunding bonds and affirmed its 'AAA' rating, with a stable outlook, on the county's existing GO debt. Standard & Poor's also affirmed its 'AA+' rating, with a stable outlook, on Arlington County Industrial Development Authority, Va.'s appropriation-backed debt, supported by the county. The ratings reflect out view of the county's: Deep and diverse economy, serving as one of the anchors of the greater Washington and Northern Virginia core-based statistical area; Excellent financial management that has been proactive in managing through all economic cycles, including the current national recession; Consistent finances, which has resulted in, what we consider, very strong...
