The Report: Saudi Arabia 2012
Oxford Business Group, Jan 2012, Pages: 360+
In a year when international markets faced political and financial tumult, Saudi Arabia has been adapting to accommodate the winds of change while preserving its centuries-old traditions. Diversification is the centrepiece of its economic development, and the government has been using hydrocarbons windfalls to further this goal. Manufacturing and industry are growing, and infrastructure to support growth areas is continually expanding as well. In tandem with economic developments, legal reforms for the financial, health and education sectors are allowing for the gradual reshaping of legal codes to coordinate and streamline services.
