Saudi Arabia Real Estate Report provides industry professionals and strategists, corporate analysts, real estate associations, government departments and regulatory bodies with independent forecasts and competitive intelligence on Saudi Arabia's Real Estate industry.
After experiencing some instability due to the global financial downturn in 2009, Saudi Arabia’s real estate market recovered in 2010. Growth in 2011 was expected to be generated by government stimulus spending and rising oil windfalls. Nevertheless, recent data show that the real estate market in H211 was not immune to the market volatility experienced worldwide.
Saudi Arabia’s various real estate sectors are developing in different directions and at varying rates. The commercial market in general suffers from over-supply and is forecast to undergo limited growth in the short-to-medium term; the data from H211 does not contradict this long-held view. Of the three subsectors that we survey (office, retail and industrial), all registered negative growth, with the only positive year-on-year figures generated by prime retail space.
