Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services bases its ratings on Toledo Edison Co. on the consolidated credit profile of parent FirstEnergy Corp., a merchant energy and utility holding company. Toledo Edison is an electricity distribution utility wholly owned by FirstEnergy and fully regulated by the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). It provides electricity distribution services to all customers in its service territory in northwestern Ohio, as well as generation services to those customers electing to retain the utility as their power supplier.
