Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has assigned its 'AA-' long-term rating to the series 2012 taxable revenue bonds to be issued by Tufts University, Mass. Standard & Poor's also affirmed its 'AA-' long-term rating and 'AA-' underlying rating (SPUR) on various other revenue bonds issued for the university by the Massachusetts Development Finance Agency. In addition, we affirmed the 'AA-/A-1' rating on the agency's series G and N-2 variable-rate demand bonds (VRDBs) issued for the university. The 'A-1' short-term rating component reflects our opinion of the external liquidity in the form of standby purchase agreements (SBPAs) with Bank of America N.A. totaling $79.3 million, which expire Oct. 28, 2014.
