Security of information technologies. Confidence building for a connected society (Spanish Version)

AENOR Spanish Association for Standardization and Certification, January 2003, Pages: 634

The massive use of information technologies questions the confidence and security of the systems and computer and electronic products in a society which increasingly depends on them.

In view of this situation, we are witnessing the first steps for confidence building both in information systems and in the possible interrelation among them.

In this work a group of experts reflects about the efforts that are made to form a new performance model whose orientation is confidence building.

It analyzes with all technical rigour those relevant aspects that help to effectively protect information systems.

Beside examining the normative frame and security measurements to adopt, it specially stresses on the importance of certification as a tool that guarantees consumers, companies and administration, the security of products and information technology systems that they use.
