Tendril is a provider of energy management systems for the utilities industry. The company offers solutions such as demand response and energy efficiency allowing providers to balance demand, mitigate peaks in real time and minimize operational costs. It provides Tendril Connect, an open, secure and scalable platform that takes the complexity out of the Energy Internet and creates a dialogue between energy service providers and their customers. The company's product portfolio includes Insight, an In-Home Display (IHD) that communicates with networked smart devices, such as thermostats, electricity meters and outlets, and displays information about energy consumption, rates, and cost of use; Set Point, a smart thermostat that communicates with a variety of in-home devices, such as outlets, electricity meters, and the Tendril Energize application suite; Transport, an IP gateway device that provides the Home Area Network (HAN) a connection to the Internet, opening a new channel of interaction and collaboration between consumers and their energy service provider; Relay extends the range of a Home Area Network (HAN), making it easier to access and connect devices in large homes and hard-to-reach places, like garages, out-of-the-way areas in the home, and meters located a distance from the home.; Volt outlet is a three-prong, ZigBee Smart Energy certified electrical device that can be plugged into a standard wall receptacle to turn off or on any connected electrical appliance; and third party devices. Tendril is headquartered in Boulder, the US.

In June 2011, Siemens Energy, Inc. and Tendril entered into a strategic alliance to market the Tendril Connect platform to utilities.
