It compiles 102 standards with specifications on aluminium products, relating to their alloys, properties, mechanical and dimension characteristics, supply technical conditions and their adaptation for specific applications (contact with food, railway, maritime construction, pressure equipment, etc.)

The standards are arranged by the type of product to which they apply: wires, rods, pins, bars, profiles, tubes, finstock, foil, sheets, strips, plates, slabs, liquid metal, ingots, slugs, circles, stocks or scrap.

In addition, it enables users to find standards quickly providing different searching options:

- Produced by: it refers to the process involved when manifacturing the product (moulding, extrusion, delamination, etc.) .
- Semi-finished product for: it refers to the process based on this product (the case of wrought stocks, extrusion ingots, etc.).
- Specific application: for instance, food, marine, electrotechnical, construction applications, etc.

Standards are subject to regular reviews in order to ensure they are updated and in line with the progress made by industry and society. For this reason, although the standards contained in this handbook were valid when going to press, the amendments to be made in the UNE standards catalogue in the future may affect this selection.
