LONDON (Standard & Poor's CreditWire) Dec. 21, 1999--Standard & Poor's today revised its local currency outlook on Landsvirkjun, the Icelandic transmission and electricity generation company, to negative from stable. At the same time, Standard & Poor's affirmed its double-'A'-plus long-term local currency issuer credit and senior unsecured debt ratings, its single-'A'-plus long-term foreign currency issuer credit and senior unsecured debt ratings, and its 'A-1'-plus short-term local currency and foreign currency ratings on Landsvirkjun. The foreign currency outlook is positive, mirroring that of the Republic of Iceland (local currency double-'A'-plus/Stable/'A-1'-plus; foreign currency single-'A'-plus/Positive/'A-1'-plus).
