Standard & Poor's Ratings Services affirmed its 'A-1+' short-term rating on Norfolk Economic Development Authority, Va.'s $130 million commercial paper (CP) notes, issued for Sentara HealthCare. The 'A-1+' rating on the CP program is based on Sentara's ability to fund from its own liquidity any CP that has not successfully remarketed. The CP program currently has a $130 million program limit and Sentara has issued $123.8 million at this time. Sentara's long-term rating is 'AA' with a stable outlook. Sentara has a total of $331 million of variable-rate demand obligations (VRDOs) and CP obligations supported by its self-liquidity program. Sentara has identified more than $370 million of fixed-income assets and two dedicated bank lines totaling $230 million dollars to guarantee...
