The long-term component of the rating is based on the 'AAA' rated, underlying bonds. The short-term component of the rating is based on the 'A-1+' rating on Royal Bank of Canada until July 12, 2013. In addition, Standard & Poor's assigned its 'AAA' rating to RBC Municipal Products Inc.'s residual certificates (PUCs), series O-42, relating to Metropolitan Pier & Exposition Authority's McCormick Place expansion project bonds, series 2012A (non-AMT).
