Abstract
Standard & Poor's Ratings Services has assigned its 'AA+' long-term rating to University of North Carolina Board of Governors' series 2012C taxable bonds. At the same time, we affirmed our 'AA+' ratings on other bonds issued for the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) by various issuers. We also affirmed our 'AA' long-term rating on the board of governors' series 1997 utility revenue bonds, issued for UNC-CH. Standard & Poor's also affirmed its 'A-1+' short-term rating based on our view of UNC-CH's self-liquidity and strong bank lines of credit. The outlook remains positive. The rating reflects our assessment of UNC-CH's strong unlimited student-fee pledge and the 'AA' rating reflects the narrower pledge associated with the utility system revenue bonds....
