Abstract
BUENOS AIRES (Standard & Poor's) July 13, 2012--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it raised its short-term global scale rating on the City of Rio de Janeiro to 'A-2' from 'A-3', following a similar rating action on Brazil (foreign currency rating BBB/Stable/A-2; local currency rating A-/Stable/A-2). The long-term global scale rating and rating outlook on Rio de Janeiro remain the same. The upgrade does not reflect an improvement in our view of the city's short-term creditworthiness.
