Q2 2011 Earnings Call - ChipMOS Technologies (Bermuda) Ltd., - Call Street Report
- Language: English
- Published: August 2011
An election is due by February 2013 but is likely to be called earlier by Paula Cox, the leader of the governing nationalist Progressive Labour Party (PLP), most probably in December 2012.
The opposition One Bermuda Alliance (OBA) leads polls of voter intentions. An OBA government would ease immigration restrictions, lower barriers to foreign investment and accelerate cuts in public spending.
Rising public debt service costs will weigh on the public finances beyond 2012-13. Financing constraints will reduce capital spending but some priority projects will advance.
