The China Real Estate Report provides industry professionals and strategists, corporate analysts, real estate associations, government departments and regulatory bodies with independent forecasts and competitive intelligence on China's Real Estate industry.

As prices are now well into a decline and curbing measures continue, particularly in major cities in China, the overriding sentiment in the country’s commercial and residential real estate market is that a slowdown is under way. Many developers are struggling with liquidity issues, as many more have estimated a decline in earnings for Q112. There are some bright spots on the horizon, however. The retail market is showing strength amid the uncertainty, with Jones Lang LaSalle predicting that the sector is due for a ‘major upgrade’. In addition, Beijing’s office rents have so far shown little sign of slowing, recently surpassing those in New York and Tokyo. Sporadic reports have emerged from mid-April that the economy is slowly gaining momentum. However, any recovery remains in the early stages and downside risks are still prevalent, so for the time being our overall outlook for the sector remains subdued.
