Ever since the realisation that MNT (Micro Nano Technology) offers potential opportunities for accessing new markets and expanding existing ones, the race for exploitation began. These opportunities encompassed technical, financial as well as enabling capabilities. As a result, successful ventures were initiated by (large) companies, institutes and entrepreneurs. These have charted the way forward. Failed adventures have, however, provided sufficient warnings of the pitfalls and challenges encountered along the way to commercialisation. This “white paper ” attempts to summarise some of the more obvious problems and other less clear hurdles likely to be encountered by prospective new business ventures.
