As of April 2010, global net installed capacity of nuclear power is 374127MWE, nuclear power capacity under the construction is 51242MWE, nuclear power installed capacity is 157932MWE in future planning.

As of the end of May 2010, China has built 23 nuclear power units, with 25310 M We installed capacity.

China's goal of nuclear power development is that, by 2020, nuclear power capacity in operation will reach 70 million kilowatts or even higher to 1 million kilowatts. And at the end of 2009, installed capacity of nuclear power is only 9.068 million kilowatts. The next decade, compound annual growth rate of installed capacity close to 20%, the nuclear strategy is changed from "When the development of nuclear power" to "actively develop nuclear," economic prosperity cycle of nuclear power industry has come, China will further accelerate the progress of nuclear power construction .

At present, China has approved 10 projects, 28 nuclear power units, of which 24 units with 25 million kilowatts in the construction, accounting for 40% of nuclear power plants under construction worldwide, and is the country of building the world's largest nuclear power.
