With care: Strong, steady cell phone use will continue to support demand for repair services
The industry benefited as smartphone and tablet usage has proliferated, although the pandemic has dampened the industry performance as of late. The rising popularity of expensive but fragile smartphones has supported the industry at a baseline level. Phones are becoming stronger and more durable, making them more difficult to break and potentially threatening the industry. The pandemic has placed downward pressure on industry demand, as consumers have largely been homebound since 2020. Revenue is expected to contract at a CAGR of 0.2% to $3.8 billion in 2023, despite a hike of 2.1% in 2023 alone.
