Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
Apollo Managed Care Consultants, June 2011, Pages: 70
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder or ADHD is a condition that makes it difficult for children to control their behavior in home, school and social settings. It is one of the most common chronic conditions of childhood and affects between 4 and 12 percent of all school-age children, usually persisting to some degree into adulthood. About 3 times more boys than girls are diagnosed with ADHD. Children with ADHD may experience significant functional problems such as academic underachievement, turbulent relationships with family and peers, and behavioral problems.
This report looks at diagnosis of the condition, in addition to non-pharmaceutical and pharmaceutical management in children, adolescents and adults. The report includes references, web links and other resources and is updated annually.
