In the last few years, an increase in the usage of computers have been witnessed with median number of learners for each computer was recorded at 6.9 in primary schools and 3.4 in secondary schools. In terms of percentage, computer access reached 65% in primary schools and 63% in secondary schools in 2010.

The UK universities fiercely sell their courses to international students. Around GBP 15,000 has been spent by each foreign student in respect of fees and living expenses. Universities continue to play an important role in an uncertain economy. International students bring adequate funds in form of full tuition fees which allow enables universities to provide subsidized education to local students. In 2011, the total revenues earned by universities amounted to GBP ~ billion (USD ~ billion) at a growth rate of 2.2% from previous year. The slowest growth in the past five years was recorded in 2010 when revenues earned by universities grew only 1.0% from 2009 results.
