2014 was the second year in which sales of smartphones outperformed sales of feature phones. In 2014, the disproportion between these two was even bigger than in 2013; smartphones accounted for 70% share of all mobile phones’ volume sales. Penetration rate (percentage of households) of smartphones rose to 60% and is now higher than the penetration rate of feature phones which dropped to 50%.
