Outlook On State of Western Australia Revised To Negative; Ratings Affirmed At ?AAA/A-1+' Oct 12

Abstract
SYDNEY (Standard & Poor's) Oct. 25, 2012--Standard & Poor's Ratings Services said today that it has revised its outlook on the State of Western Australia (WA) to negative. At the same time, the 'AAA/A-1+' issuer credit ratings on WA were affirmed. The outlook on the government's financing arm, Western Australian Treasury Corp. (WATC) was also revised to negative, and the ratings affirmed at 'AAA/A-1+'. WA's economy is very wealthy, with very high per capita income of A$93,593 in fiscal 2011 compared to the national average of A$62,424. Growth has been rapid in recent years, as investment in mining--primarily related to iron ore--has ramped up; State Final Demand grew by 14.7% in fiscal 2012.
