Bulgarian Transport Report

The Bulgarian Transport Report provides an extensive coverage of the sector and analysis of the regulatory framework and some of the more significant events on the market. The report is divided in sections dedicated to the various transport segments, such as aviation, water and rail transport. In addition, the report focuses on developments in the field of transport infrastructure and evaluates their role for economic development in general. Finally, the statistics section at the end of the report provides and overview of the state of the sector and is very useful for observation of the trends in the field. The report is updated on quarterly basis.
Two important events took place in the aviation sector over the past three months. First, the national flag carrier Bulgaria Air was privatised to Balkan Hemus Group, owner of second-largest airline Hemus Air. The company won the tender with a bid of EUR 6.6mn and a 5-year investment commitment worth EUR 82.1mn.
