Embedded DRAM In Customer-Specific, Cell-Based Designs: Myth, Reality or Pseudo
In-Stat/MDR, June 2004, Pages: 46
This report presents an in-depth analysis of the embedded DRAM market, including discussions of issues and opportunities relative to the technology. While being somewhat limited in future growth, due to the increased use of Application-Specific Standard Products (ASSPs), which will include embedded blocks of DRAM, it will be a necessity for some high-performance infrastructure applications. Included is a comprehensive analysis of the embedded DRAM market, including both the use of conventional DRAM as well as pseudo DRAM. This market will see its worldwide revenues grow from $124.7 million in 2002 to $255.1 million by the year 2008. Loosely translated, that represents a compound annual growth rate, 2003-2008, of 13.2%.
End-use consumption of products, designed using both standard and embedded DRAM technology, are examined for major end-use markets; Electronic Data Processing (EDP), communications, consumer, industrial, military/automotive. The EDP, communications, consumer and industrial markets are also discussed to a lower level, for applications such as networking, workstations, servers, et cetera. Geographic consumption for each of the four major regions, The Americas, Europe, Japan and Asia Pacific, is also included. Also, data is presented relative to operating voltage, DRAM architecture, packaging and mixed-signal requirements for the embedded DRAM market, as well as other functions included in these designs, and a listing of providers and architectures.
