PC-TV Tuners enable PCs to capture, store, manage and distribute a wide range of content. Intel and Microsoft are touting Entertainment PCs to drive a new round of what Bill Gates calls "the virtuous cycle of innovation." The key partners in the PC "ecosystem" are defining the Entertainment PC so that it provides a solid growth opportunity for all involved.

PC-TV Tuners are key components for Entertainment PCs. They tune in broadcast video, and capture that video by digitizing it, compressing it, and storing it on hard disk drives. Over the next five years, we expect PC-TV Tuners to undergo a significant evolution.

We believe the Analog PC-TV market will grow from about $504 million (US) during 2004, up to nearly $1 Billion (US) during 2008. The value of Digital PC-TV Tuner products, including the value of digital terrestrial set top boxes, will grow to more than $2.8 Billion (US) during 2008. The value of components used in Digital Terrestrial Set Top Boxes will grow to more than $1.6 Billion (US) during 2008. The new E-Field antenna, from Dotcast, will improve TV reception, and help to grow the market.
