Consumer Demand for Mobile Music Services

Mobile music and audio services in the US are beginning to evolve beyond the familiar, tinny sounds of monophonic ringtones. With mobile data services entering the mainstream, wireless multimedia is seen as the one of the next big growth areas for the cellular business. Carriers and content providers are now working quietly behind the scenes on a new generation of mobile services that are designed to bring wireless connectivity to the digital music revolution.
This report, based on In-Stat/MDRs Consumer Mobility Study, contains the following insights on which mobile music and audio categories will be a success in the US market:
