2Q 2004 Packet Telephony Gateway Market Analysis

The packet telephony gateway market experienced an overall decline in port shipments of 2.5% in the second quarter of 2004, compared to the first quarter, but shipments on a year over year basis increased by 17.7% compared to the second quarter in 2003. Total revenues remained flat in comparison to 1Q 2004, and grew by 13.2% compared to 2Q 2003. The low and medium density segments showed an increase during the second quarter, while the high density segment declined by 8.6% compared to 1Q 2004. This report includes vendor market shares for various segments of the packet voice gateway market and a rolling three-quarter forecast of the packet voice equipment market.
