Public WLAN/Hotspot Adoption in the Business Environment

Any way you look at it, interest in wireless hotspots is growing. Based on a survey of more than 1,000 respondents, this study provides information about: wireless LAN adoption at home and work, current usage of hotspots for business and personal reasons, locations where hotspots are used and where people would like to use the services, applications used/planned, service providers used/ planning to use, devices used/planning to use to access hotspot services, frequency of use, preferred pricing options, WWAN usage, demand for hotspot services versus wireless WAN services, the affect that hotspot usage has had and is anticipated to have on WWAN usage, and demand for bundled billing. This study also provides information regarding barriers to adoption. This study is based on a survey of In-Stat/MDR's Wireless Panel.
