In 2Q04, the Wi-Fi unit shipments declined 11% Quarter over Quarter (QoQ). Total Wi-Fi unit shipments increased 29% Year over Year (YoY). 9.82 million units were shipped in 2Q04 compared to 7.58 million units in 2Q03. End-use revenue declined 6% QoQ from $941 million in 1Q04 to $888 million in 2Q04. End-use revenue increased 31% YoY from $676 million in 2Q03 to $888 million in 2Q04.
Despite overall declines in total Wi-Fi units and revenue, Access Point (AP) unit shipments increased 7% from 4.45 million units in 1Q04 to 4.75 million units in 2Q04. Likewise, AP revenue increased 1.0% from $608 million in 1Q04 to $614 million in 2Q04.
NIC shipments and revenue continued to decline. Shipments decreased 22% in 2Q04 from 6.52 units in 1Q04 to 5.07 units in 2Q04. Revenue decreased 18% from
$333 million in 1Q04 to $274 million in 2Q04.
