Forget the triple play, and four-play, we now have multi-play.
The capabilities of Gigabit Ethernet Video Routers are expanding to support advanced audio and video compression methods, and widening their features and functions to provide fully-converged Internet Protocol networks that are capable of delivering an extended range of multiple services, which go far beyond the so-called triple play of just video, voice and high speed data.
Gigabit Ethernet Video Routers are creating completely converged IP networks that can be re-configured on the fly to provide a wide range of services to subscribers. The trick is to get the right bits moved through the network, at the lowest cost, to obtain the maximum value from each service, and from each customer.
GigE Video Routers will double their market with IP-TV.
New Internet Protocol TV services (IP-TV) use the same core technology, management software, and network control systems that have been developed for digital Cable services. We believe IP-TV applications will double the value of the Gigabit Ethernet Video Router market.
We expect this market will account for more than $930 million (US) during 2008.
