MultiService WAN switch sales increased significantly this quarter. Total worldwide MultiService WAN switch manufacturer sales revenues in 3Q 04 were $602 million. This was an increase of 10% from the previous quarter, and was a substantial increase of 15% from 3Q 03. About 82% of the sales were for ATM/IP/MPLS-related equipment, and 18% of the sales were for Frame Relay.

This report includes detailed equipment vendor market shares for MultiService WAN switches sold to service providers and enterprises, as well as a rolling three-quarter forecast of the market.
