Taiwanese router shipments started out flat, yet rebounded significantly starting from the middle of the third quarter. The increase was mainly due to seasonal demand and rising oil prices, which led vendors to opt for sea freight and consequently early shipments. In the fourth quarter, the peak sales season will boost SOHO router shipments. Nonetheless, corporate investment and operators' moves to raise the share of DSL routers in their product mix are likely to compress fourth quarter router shipments. Thus, Taiwanese router shipment growth will not exceed 10% in the fourth quarter of 2004

Shipment forecast up to 1Q 2005. Special discussion on the erosion of DSL and cable modem routers into the SOHO router segment. 3Q 2004 review including shipment volume, shipment value and ASP, product mix, key component supplier market share, business types, shipment destinations, production locations, manufacturer rankings, industry concentration, and major manufacturer profiles.
