Standard & Poor's Ratings Services' ratings on Entergy Arkansas Inc. (EAI) reflect the consolidated credit profile of its parent, Entergy Corp. Our ratings on Entergy are based on a "strong" business risk profile and "significant" financial risk profile under our criteria. Entergy's strong business risk profile incorporates regulated utility operations that have steadily improved over time, but this strength is offset by significant exposure to merchant generation operations. Entergy owns EAI, Entergy Gulf States Louisiana LLC (EGSL), Entergy Louisiana LLC (ELL), Entergy Mississippi Inc. (EMI), Entergy New Orleans Inc. (ENOI), Entergy Texas Inc. (ETI), System Energy Resources Inc. (a regulated wholesale generation company), and an unrated merchant generation business with operations primarily in the Northeast.
