IBISWorld, Feb 2012, Pages: 33
Dressing down: Revenue will fall further, but demand for high-end costumes will partly offset declines
Costume & Team Uniform Manufacturing in the US
Wear and tear
The recession exacerbated the already declining industry, with domestic customers looking to cheaper imports to satisfy demand for infant apparel, costumes and other goods. While this downward trend will continue into the next five years, rising export values and demand for high-end domestic-made costumes will partly mitigate the negative trends.
This industry manufactures cut and sew apparel from purchased fabric, and products include fur apparel, leather apparel, infants' apparel, costumes and clerical vestments. Activities include buying raw materials, designing and preparing samples, arranging for apparel to be made from their materials and marketing finished apparel. The term 'infant apparel' includes apparel for young children of an age not exceeding 24 months.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
