Ink Manufacturing in the US
IBISWorld, Aug 2011, Pages: 36
Smaller print: Revenue will shrink as consumers opt for web content over print media
Ink Manufacturing in the US
Ink wells dry up
Consumers are increasingly getting their news online and reducing demand for newspapers and other print publications, slowing the need for ink. The industry will continue to experience a decline in revenue over the next five years, with consumers also reducing spending on packaged goods that rely on ink manufacturers. While operators will have some short-term gains due to the economic recovery, overall growth will remain limited.
Firms in this industry manufacture ink-jet cartridges and printing and ink-jet inks, including lithographic, flexographic, gravure and letterpress inks. These products are then sold to commercial printers, newspaper and magazine printers, office supplies wholesalers and screen printers. This industry does not include firms that manufacture writing, drawing and stamping ink; or toner cartridges for photocopiers, fax machines and computer printers.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
