Money Market & Other Banking in the US
IBISWorld, May 2011, Pages: 31
On the outs: Banks will continue to migrate to the commercial structure, hurting revenue
Money Market & Other Banking in the US
Not in the money
The industry will continue to face declining revenue, as more industrial and private banks convert to commercial banks or exit altogether. Still reeling from the recession, heightened competition from commercial banks and other institutions will make operating conditions difficult, leading to a further reduction in enterprise numbers.
Firms in this industry accept deposits and lend funds (except commercial banking, savings institutions, and credit unions). It includes industrial banks or industrial loan companies, and private banks (i.e. unincorporated banks). Many industrial banks are owned by non-financial institutions. Industrial banks and private banks are not regulated by the Federal Reserve, but instead are under the jurisdiction of the state under which they are chartered and the FDIC.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
