Bon voyage: Despite competition from the web, rebounding travel rates keep the industry recovery-bound
Tour Operators in the US
Bon voyage
Despite growing competition from online-based travel companies, tour operators are recovery-bound. As both domestic and international travel rates improve, demand for tour operators' services will rise. The economic recovery will also encourage consumers to go on vacations. Developing markets in China, Russia and elsewhere will provide tour operators new avenues for growth. To increase their competitiveness, operators will also try to incorporate more exotic destinations and unique experiences into their travel packages.
Businesses in this industry plan, package, market and sell multiple vacation elements, including air or surface transportation arrangements and accommodations. Package tours are generally sold to the public through travel agents, and tour or wholesale operators are included in this industry. Suppliers primarily engaged in providing accommodation, such as owners or operators of hotels, resorts and cruise lines, are not included in this industry code's definition.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
